The Special East Regional Masters Renaissance Meeting hasbeen set for 7.00pm on Monday 2nd April at Bishops Stortford HockeyClub (CM23 2SN). This invitation is open to any individual with an interest inMasters Hockey, both women & men; be you a club, county, regional ornational player; an organiser, coach, administrator, spectator or would justlike to get back into hockey, everyone is very welcome. With ever improvinghealth, Masters Hockey has experienced considerable growth over the last 10-15years and within the East we have had success at both club and regional nationalcompetition level for both men and ladies. We are the envy of most team sportsas we can continue to enjoy competitive hockey even beyond our allotted threescore years and ten!

Despite these successes, the East Men’s League is teeteringon a fine edge. The number of Master players is ever increasing and we cannotallow the league to collapse. There are additional opportunities that can beconsidered – Sunday Masters, Midweek Evening Masters, Wanderers sides allowingclubs with small numbers of Masters to join together, County Competitions,Mixed Masters, Masters Tournaments & Festivals etc.

My name is Robert Oakley from Bedford HC and I have beenasked by our President, John Hendy to help develop this Masters Renaissance, butI cannot do this without your help. You may receive this invitation via manysources for which I apologise, but we don’t even have a database of Masterscontacts. If you do receive many invitations then the mailings have beensuccessful, BUT please forward this invitation to fellow club members or anyoneyou know who might be remotely interested.

A light buffet and limited free bar will be available on theevening. I would therefore appreciate an idea of numbers for catering purposes andask that you reply to me at if you plan to attend this Renaissance Meeting. I can also be contacted on07721 336329.

I, along with many players have been enjoying Masters Hockeyfor many seasons, but others are just entering their Masters era. How would youlike to see playing opportunities for Masters increase within your home Region?Come and have your say and help develop and progress Masters to all our advantageand enjoyment.
