Report:
A completely new formation once again struggled to play as a cohesive
team with passes going astray and very few effective triangles. That
said against a team who clearly new each other's game well, we rarely
looked in danger, and we looked like scoring on the very few occasions
we did get into their D. We probably should have gone 1 - 0 up when a
Wynn Roberts strike was given as a goal, a decision then reversed
following complaints from defenders that the ball was outside the D.
However, this was quickly followed by Wynn's first goal from a short
corner.Although Old B's quickly equalised, we scored our second from
another short corner following some nice interplay and a scuffed shot
from Wynn, I guess the defenders were already taking cover! The second
half deteriorated with Old B's being rewarded between 15 and 20 short
corners for any offence being committed in the 25. We held out fairly
comfortably against a series of very poor routines, but finally, gave
away two goals in the last few minutes, they had clearly had enough
practice at short corners.
A rather disappointing result against a young but very fit and well
organised opposition. |
