Report:
A stirling fight back from 1-3 down by a team determined not to give up.
This very even game had looked as though it was going to be decided by 2
good goals from a visiting student surprisingly wanting to spend time
with his Dad.....wonders never cease. We did try to tackle him the first
time (and failed), the second time we just let him run into the D
unopposed to score. Until then the game had been even with a scrappy
Holcs opener matched by a super dribble and goal from Andrew
(reluctantly playing with his Dad who he prefers to call pensioner).
Then roared on by a pair of Willoughbies on the look out for a spare
match tea but representing our biggest away crowd of the season...Thanks
chaps, we executed a perfect short corner routine and a sublime passing
movement to score 2 in the last 10 minutes.
A fair draw and a great competitive game to play in ....I shall
remember for a long time with a smile Jon failing to resist an urge to
blast the ball off the end of the pitch accompanied by moans of ironic
despair from a "new born fan of passing" vice captain. Nothing
could stop Steve Pateman smiling or Spencer shouting and nor should it. |
