Report:
This was a very close and competitive game on a beautiful sunny day.
Following our poor performance against Gravesham the week before we
started off in the same way - nervous and not really picking out our
passes. But there was more quality on the field this week and losing was
not really an option for us.
We created chances, but couldn't find a finish. Their goal-keeper
also played well.
The second half, we started to play with more authority, with Kevin
Antao moving our defence further up the field. Alastair found himself in
the right place to score a good few times, but the ball kept missing his
stick. We had a series of short corners, but couldn't finish any of
them. Finally, 5 minutes before the finish, Toby knocked one in from a
short that broke down.
The young Bords side came back at the old Beccs side. They had the
skills and the pace, but they didn't really have the conviction, so we
held out for a valuable 3 points. |
