This week was always going to be a sad one. The well oiled machine known as Alex Newton is on his way to the other side of the planet and going to Aussie land. His CRB form finally came through and they are deporting him. Lets hope Chris Lakes comes in before next season!Anyway with no further ado, Bexley turned up with 10 and no umpire and i massive thanks must go to Keith for his patience and taking on the role for the whole game alone. Thank you a million Keith.
Alex selfishly asked if he could go up front this week and i kindly said no, but unfortunately he itched his way up front and scored 2 lovely, selfish and slightly annoying goals and nearly followed by a 3, again, again and again if Steve and others had passed to you.
We had a good game on the whole with a number of goals and a few tasty moments. However we quite rightly were annoyed and upset to only win by this margin. We were quite clearly a much better side than we were playing. In the bar after the game, no offence to BI or Anchs, there captain duely said that once again "we 3 are there together and neither moving up nor down!" or words to that effect. Steph especially did not like this to be compared with BI and Anchs, but once we got him off the ceiling and wiped the blood off the oppo we were ready to fight on next season and push for promotion. We as a side now are far beyond a lot of those teams we play in this league. We can play some classy hockey, if only we did not drop our game against the weaker sides. Lesson learned and next season we will push, and push so hard damn it!
Enough of this, we all played very well and Steve also got 2 goals upon a return from injury. Well done Lipscombe.
Alex we truly wish you all the best in your adventure, please whatever you do, DON'T go and see Adrien's friend who is a dodgy pig farmer. Is he the one of Jerry Springer?
Next season lads, next season is beckoning a push to the giants above! We will fight them on the beaches... (To be continued...)
