Report:
This was a great game played at a high tempo and with a high level of skill.
We dramatically changed our format this week. Brendan Jessup on the right wing and Matt Davies on the left wing proved an inspiration.
Paddy took his first go in defence, and we returned to our 3-1-4-2 formation which won us the game 2 weeks ago.
Two 2s debuts this week: Luke Pullen and Andrew Ram as sub.
Andy Skipper opened the scoring to continue the 2s successful short corner routine.
Matt scored a great individual goal, running on his own from the 25 yard line past 5 or 6 defenders. The third goal came from Skipper to complete his brace, muscling his way to a great cross from the right from Brendan which resulted in the ball hitting the roof of the net.
The final 20 minutes was real end-to-end stuff, and we could easily have thrown away 2 points, if it wasn't for Jamie's great reflex keeping and some good fortune!
Man of the match is very difficult to pick, but in order to give Jamie a break, this week it goes to Paddy! Unfortunately for Paddy, he played so well that we won't be needing him up front any longer! |
