Report:
KCCC on a cold afternoon against a side from the league above but a game to warm all the players and spectators. The first minutes Folkestone kept the ball and passed it around from one side of the pitch to the other and we looked as if we would have an uphill battle.

After a while with no end product from Folkestone we pressed more and more into there half with the ball and with Folkestone not creating many chances the game was well and truly taken to the higher league team. Hay these guys aren't that good we can get something here I could see on players faces after a superb save from Leon from a penalty flick the whole side was visibly lifted.

Folkestone were not destined to score in this game no one was going to let them. Ben took over in goal at half time and in the second half showed we have to equally good keepers in our club with some top rate saves and Folkestone wilted when any chances they made were snuffed out a top display from both keepers. Four goals sealed a superb victory. A lot of work on the training pitch paid off in this match and you could not fault any of the players let alone pick a man of the match the running was terrific the passing and tackling even better and there was players covering each other all over the pitch.

It will be interesting to see how this team performs against the lower Folkestone side in two weeks. I have never seen a better performance from a NBHC mens 1st XI and I have seen nearly all of them, I was proud of you lads. But boy did I want to be out there take this performance and use it !

Quote of the day Lets keep it under 5 from the Folkestone sweeper. Goal of the game after a drive up the pitch Kieron ghosting into the blind spot of 3 stationary players who then could do nothing but watch him arriving on the penalty spot to steer the perfect cross into the corner if I wasn't umpiring I would have been clapping. WOW.
